For the second year in a row Georgia Tech hosted a semi-private gathering bringing together Georgia Tech, the Atlanta professional teams, and corporate partners to create an increased awareness and share related efforts around Sports Innovation, ultimately building upon current foundation by expanding and creating partnerships, collaboration, generating opportunities, and solving problems.

This year’s agenda included 4 ‘TED’ talks by Georgia Tech faculty.  Topics included: Concussion/TBI research; Biomechanics applied to Georgia Tech athletics; Georgia Tech Men’s Basketball Data Analytics Program overview; and Predictive Modeling for sports (NCAA basketball).  Following the ‘TED” talks were two powerful Panel discussions – one on ESports and the other on Sports Science & Analytics.  Key “players” for the ESports industry participated as well as representatives from Atlanta Falcons, Atlanta Braves and Georgia Tech Football.  Following the presentations, Georgia Tech’s EVP of Research, Dr. Chaouki Abdallah, had an open discussion with all attendees on ideas and next steps to promote and expand Georgia Tech’s Sports Innovation Program (SIP).
